Canvassing Protocols
Submitting Your Plan
As a Field Marketing Specialist, every 2 weeks you will submit your upcoming Friday to Friday mission plans in PINATA’s GoPortal. Your mission plans will be approved or returned for edits by the Thursday before your missions begin. For example, mission plans for 5/10 to 5/17 would be submitted by 5/6 and approved by 5/9.
Each of your requests represents one type of activity you are planning to accomplish on a specific date + time. The below criteria is required to submit for approval.
1 Activity type — 1:1 Direct Sampling, Sales Support, Indirect Sampling and Seeding, or Event Support
Predicted Products/Flavors — You will be able to edit the products to what you have on hand before you complete the activity’s report.
1 Location selection — You will use PINATA’s Google Maps integration to select a general area or specific address. This can be edited before report completion.
Planned Date + Timing — Your check-in/check-out times will be captured when you arrive at the 1st stop of an activity type and begin completing your report.
Additional Notes — This is an open text field where you can enter information like: What specific stops, if you’re in a general area? Who you plan to work with? Why is this part of your plan?
Upon request submission, your manager will approve each request in the admin dashboard of PINATA. Once they approve your requested mission plans, you will get an email notification letting you know what has been approved or what needs an edit.

Completing Reports
On the planned date of an activity you (an FMS) will review your mission for the day and edit the products to the flavors you have on hand or picked up from the warehouse.
When you arrive to the location of your first activity for the day, you will check-in on PINATA. Checking-in is important to show your Electrolit manager you were at the intended location on-time. Then you’ll work through your report to capture the required field data.
After you complete an activity’s report, you will check-out and submit your report to your Electrolit manager. Checking-out is important to show your Electrolit manager you left on-time or stayed overtime. The manager will verify the data that has been captured for each activity.

Last Minute Requests
You may come across an event you would like to work/visit last minute. This is allowed! Your Electrolit manager wants you to be successful and strategic in your role.
To enter a last-minute event, go to the Work section of your account and click NEW. You will follow the same prompts as a request, however, since it is last-minute you will be allowed to check-in and begin your report upon creation.

STEP BY STEP HOW TO
Login to go.gopinata.com.
To submit a new plan, go to Request at the bottom of your view. It is important you are in the Request section of your account to follow submission protocol.
When you are in the Request section of your account, click NEW in the top right corner of your view.
Move through the building your request by selecting your Activity, Products, Location, & Timing. To advance through each section click Save & Continue.
When you’ve made all of your selections, add any details/notes for your manager and click Submit Request.
Repeat steps 1-5 to build all of your request. When your manager approves each request, you will be notified by email.
When it is time to complete your activity’s report you will go to the Work section of your account.
In Work you will immediately see activity reports/tasks for you to check-in & complete. Each will have a status of Ready.
When you arrive to the location of your activity. Click the task you intend to begin and complete. Within the task click Check-in to begin. Make sure you have your browser’s location services turned on so you can check-in.
Once you are within your report, each section will ask reporting questions to guide your data capture. As you complete each section, click Save & Continue.
When you complete your report, click Submit at the bottom of your view. Your manager will be notified by email to review your submitted report.
Your manager will review all of your submitted reports and approve or return them. If your report is returned, your manager will include a message on what needs a quick edit.

CANCELLATIONS
If you need to cancel a task, you can do so within the task:
Within your upcoming tasks, click the task you would like to cancel.
Click the icon in the top right corner of your view.
Select the option to cancel the task.
Make sure to select a cancellation reason and confirm the cancellation.

ADD ACTIVITIES TO YOUR CALENDAR
To add a your planned activities/tasks so your calendar follow the steps below:
Go the Active tab to view your upcoming tasks.
Click any task you would like to add to your calendar.
Click the icon in the top right corner of your view to open the option of adding your task to your calendar.
Follow the remaining prompts provided by your specific device.

IS PINATA MISSING SOMETHING?
You could find that something you need is missing from PINATA. Most of the time, this is intentional on the part of your Electrolit administrators who have configured the system. Other times, this is an oversight, or the system is not fully up to date. Please contact your manager if something seems to be missing.
