Help Topics

What is PINATA?

  • What is PINATA?

PINATA is a technology platform built specifically for field marketing and trade promotions. With powerful, easy-to-use software and helpful service, we make offline campaigns easier to execute, more efficient, and more measurable by bringing all your work into one centralized command center. Our mission is to help you improve ROI in the field while simplifying your day-to-day work.

  • Why does E&J Gallo use PINATA?

E.J. Gallo National has been working with PINATA since 2021, to implement a tracking and managing process for demo and sampling programs. They have coined the phrase “No Data, No Dollar” as a guiding principle for front-line execution. PINATA provides a consolidated command center to connect E.J. Gallo users with their preferred agency partners. E.J. Gallo users have access to create, manage, and track all field activity in real-time across agency partners.

  • PINATA Terminology

As an industry expert software, the PINATA team has coined some terminology to aid in navigating our platform. A gig is a one activation by a one person — whether that’s an internal team member, a freelancer, or agency-supplied talent. Your company might use the term event, demo, tasting, sampling, etc. A program is a way to organize gigs, team members, and agency partners. You might create separate programs by region, season, holiday, or company division. You can think of a program as a folder for your gigs! An activity represents a variety of event types in the field — trade show demos, street team canvassing, on-premise activations, etc. Each type of activity can have its own set of expectations for talent and its own type of field reporting. You can learn more about our terminology by clicking here!

Booking & Tracking Demos

  • When/Who books demos on PINATA?

Demos are booked through PINATA as gigs by E&J Gallo Members, Distributor Reps/Managers, and/or Agency Manager Partners. They can be booked by the responsible party as soon as the demo is confirmed directly with the account. PINATA recommends connecting with your agency partner directly about their lead times and booking policies.

  • How do I narrow down my dashboard view?

To narrow down your view within your dashboard, use the column heading filters below the gig status bar. You can filter by date range, gig location, gig contact, brand/products, and agency partner. See the image below ⬇️ that highlights where column filters are located!

Pro Tip: You can use the contact filter to filter for your name. Then you will only see gigs you are the contact for.

  • What notifications will PINATA send?

Notifications will be sent as gigs move through the statuses of execution. When a gig is created the selected agency partner will be notified that the the gig is ready to staff. Once a gig is assigned to agency talent, talent will be notified that they have been assigned. Additionally talent will be notified the day before the gig and when it is time to check-in and complete their report. Once the report is complete, the agency will be notified to view and verify the report.

Pro Tip: Make sure your program notifications are turned on. Click here to learn how!

Reporting

  • How do I view a completed demo report?

You can view a completed report by selecting the Finished section in the status bar. In Finished, you can expand each gig using the blue magnifying glass. Within the gig expand the Report section. You will be able to see the completed report from agency’s talent.

  • How do I view a summary report of multiple demos?
